A simple, easy and most importantly nutrient dense way to bulk up your sandwich.
All you need to do is grab some chickpeas, drain and rinse them well then add in your favourite seasonings and flavours. Mash it all up with a fork and you’re ready to go!
My recipe pictured is as follows: •2 cans chickpeas (drained & rinsed well) •1 tbsp olive oil •1/3 tsp salt •1 tsp nutritional yeast •Black pepper •1 tbsp tahini •1/4 tsp garlic powder •1/2 tsp chilli flakes •1/4 tsp cumin •1/4 tsp paprika •1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Simply mash all ingredients together in a large bowl with fork.
Of course you can play around with the quantities and make it suit your own individual taste! This will make you a batch to last a few meals, making it a perfect element for a busy lifestyle or quick lunch box idea for kids.
